Songs of Darkness, Words of Light
February 16, 2004 sees the release of My Dying Bride's 8th studio album, Songs of Darkness, Words of Light. The artwork was designed by Andy Green (who also designed the cover for Like Gods of the Sun), and the album was recorded and mixed with Mags, at Academy Studio in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
The first sound samples, for My Wine in Silence and The Prize of Beauty, are currently available through Peaceville Records. Maybe not to much apreciated band..but.. for the ones who likes ! may check this out .
Great to know of their come back, this is a bandÃ*´ve always admired.Anathema turned gay and these guys keep on doing dark music.
This new album sounds promising,at least Aaron is doing some pretty extreme vocals (once again).

Turn loose the swans is their best so far.
Waiting for this new one I wonder.
great cover, seems to have some talent this mister green...
I´ll listen this new one with curiosity...
This band for sure never lost their own particular style even if they did some strange/experimental works in the past not so much into the general idea that people have about them. Each album is one of a kind...like it or not.
"The Angel and The Dark River" remains as one of my favorites.
The cover artwork isnt nothing special in my opinion.
They had a less interesting fase but their first 2 and their last 2 are albums worth to be mentioned when it comes to Doom Metal. Not precisely the kind of Doom Metal that bands like Skepticism or Worship etc perform but even so great stuff.

Há bons momentos na vida,so que não me ocorre nenhum
like Arkanum said they do have a remarkable slightly different touch in each album, I do agree they are awesome and Cry of mankind was one hell of a song that barely left my stereo when it came out heh
Cheers
Some more desperation in sight !
What would be the next surprise? That you guys are into Moonspell?

thats a gay / silly remark...
.. i think many of us here still can appreciate some doom/funeral doom or black/doom...
examples: Forgotten Tomb, Dolorian, Skepticism, Hierophant, Evoken, Thergothon, Cauldron Black Ram, Shroud of Despondency, Shape of Despair and maybe some others...
...but also My Dying Bride.
.... moonspell is a totally different story.... not to compare with the above mentioned bands, moonspell is pop crap and i think most of us agree
Its not gay to like Doom, it's rather gay to be narrowminded.
MDB makes me sleepy. Nice cover though.
I m waiting for this releases so much.I love MDB,they re romantically doomish..I loved all their albums even if the coolest one remains Like gods of the sun.Imho. ;)
One needs to have shit for brains to be comparing MDB with moonspell(pardon my french).
Many slow depressive Black Metal bands are inspired by Doom Metal, and MDB are undoubdtly one of the biggest Doom Metal bands ever,so I really don´t understand these narrow (i´m more evil than you) minded remarks.
