Yes, the English label Christcrusher Crecords will release the lp version of Urfaust - "Geist ist Teufel" at the end of februari 2004!!! Urfaust brings you depressive bastard child of Burzum and Wigrid, raped by the demons of Ved Buens Ende... or soemthing like that... The cd version will be out through the Australian label GoatWar Rexxx and will be out within 3 months...

will never understand how wigrid can be an influence to someones music... its ok if you like it (for me the album was a big dissappointment) but to worship it as an influence... hm

If this is the Urfaust of which I heard some MP3, I didn't like it.
I don't like Wigrid either, it is a total Burzum rip-off if you ask me.

Urfaust sure is twisted and creates weird spheres.

On one certain song it's like a singing, drunken murderer walking through a town, slicing throates of little children while laughing his ass off, before eventually dying himself... or sth like that.

Yes, this is another project I'm involved with, but just doing the drums, I don't write the music or anything... just beat the pigskinz!

Well, the comparisson made with Urfaust and Wigrid was not my idea, but a lot of people that heard this stuff, though it had the same atmosphere / it was in the same line...


I think URFAUST has got it's own style of music... It's a band you like or hate....

Where most black metal seems to be obsessed with either a scene, the bone headed opinion to stay in the same spot and never evolve (which ain't too bad in some band’s cases) or just happily ride the coat tails of something successful that’s come along recently, here is something rather different.

This Urfaust LP takes the character of Isenguard and injects it with a great deal of its own emotion. The band stray from the tried and tested black metal dogma and present something that sounds like it just leapt out of the middle ages. Everything has a very ‘old’ feel to it uncharacteristic of most music presented today, from the background fuzz of the guitars (always subtle and incredibly minimalist, slowly boring their way into your skull) , the offbeat drumming and the howled drunken remorse of the vocals. The LP itself has no tracklist provided, but that itself is non-essential (as many tracklists in the past have ruined albums) due to the fact the album just ‘evolves’ so to speak, flowing from one track to another in their ever-progressive nature.

Of all the Albums of 2004, I’d say this stands above all others I’ve heard thus far (the only other items that could qualify have been demos) and I very much doubt there will be a better vinyl album again this year. Note to all collectors: The artwork and presentation here is minimalist. You will not find any value here. For fans of music with raw power and emotion ONLY.

Wigrid (can't remember the guy's name) has a special sound and a special desperado touch.

Anybody know what's up with Christcrusher? They owe Goatowarex (and me at the same time) some Urfaust vinyls but they seem to have trouble replying to e-mails...

Christcrusher is on temporary haitus...Herr Chemosh jut spent the night in a cell after getting into a fight. He is finding it difficult to get back on his feet after losing his home, thus Christcrusher is a little slow right now.

It wont be released, it's cancelled. But if some other label is interested in doing this it could be worked out.

Well, a lot of comments were made about URFAUST saying it is grim, twisted, depressive, .... And when I listened to the Cd, it just make me laugh. I don't listen to BM in order to laugh
So we must have different vision of grim, twisted and depressive.
Anyway it sounds like a joke for me that's all !

It's just that I'm honest in saying that I don't like what you're doing with this band, or at least with this album.
Maybe the next one you're talking about will be of my taste who knows ?

we don't know when, but I think it will be within a couple of months, since the artwork is almost finished and all the stuff is recorded...
