Currently, we are working ourselves through almost 200 hours of video tapes as well as boxes full of Jurassic photos. One thing that already points out at the moment: it's probably going to be a double-disc-set. Somewhere in the middle of the Balkan Peninsula - an area where not many rock and metal concerts take place... with a few exceptions. One of these happened during the evening of the day mentioned above: Sodom, the world-famous German thrash metal pioneers, performed live in Bulgaria's capital Sofia for the second time in their career!
Their stage debut in this Eastern European country was on September 15, 1991, at the Academic Stadium in front of 12.000 sodomaniacs. This way Sodom became the first metal band that has played live in Bulgaria. Now, 13 years later, the trio was to be seen at a smaller, but sold-out venue (Hristo Botev Hall), becoming the first metal band that has played live in Bulgaria twice!
The event organized by the local promoting company Stain Studio (www.stainstudio.com) began at 19:30 with the 30-minute-long performance of Bulgaria's best extreme metal band at the moment, The Revenge Project (http://therevenge.hit.bg), followed by 110 minutes of all-time thrash metal classics created in the course of the last three decades - from "Witching Metal", "Sodomy & Lust", "Ausgebombt" and "Sodomized", through "Agent Orange", "The Saw Is the Law", "Bombenhagel" and "Remember the Fallen", to "M-16", "Tombstone", "Der Wachturm", "Stalinorgel", a merciless cover version of Motorhead's evergreen "Ace of Spades", and many, many more. High-quality sound and light show, totally devoted thousands of fans screaming and singing along all the time, the happy faces of Tom Angelripper, Bernemann, Bobby Schottkowski & crew after the concert...
