I am not sure about the demos, cose saddly I don´t have them.

In the very beginning they were known as "Vlad".I've heard they released 2 demos whose name are "In the mist" and "Yggdrasil".

Excellent and unique band!

For me "Ultima Thulée" and "The Work Which Transforms God" are two of the best Black Metal albums Hailing from France,never did understand why this band was never "accepted" by the so called B.M. Underground Elite.
The Eye "Supremacy" album is also outstanding,I think it could be a BAN album but that´s not my call.
Already had the oportunity to listen to Vlad demos and I think it´s also awesome stuff.Any one has them for sale or trade ?

The Eye is also with Vindsval,the man behind BAN,and sounds a bit similar with another concept,i think he has also other project,im not sure if solo one,called Children of Maani or something,never heard it

Fathers of the icy age and Ultima T are two of my favorites,but all BAN´s works sound excellent!

Children of Maani is not even worth mentioning,it´s below average compared to what Vindsval has done.

"The Work Which Transforms God" and "Ultima Thulee" are way better than "Fathers of the icy age",in fact this album disapointed me cos I was expecting a follow up to "Ultima Thulee",but well,the last album just makes it up for the two past ones."The Work Which...." album is one of the best releases of this year in my opinion,truly dark,sinister and original.

Children of Mäani could be considered as Blut aus Nord´s garbage...

The two Vlad (pre BAN as you all know) demos are just 'ok', I don't know why I bought them back then (and no before someone ask me I keep ALL my stuff even the worst crap).

I never liked BAN either but I must say "the eye" demo is hypnotic far better than the Lp. Children of maani should have been the 'death metal' side of Vindsval's mind but to me it's simply useless, no death in here, just boring stuff.

BAN to me stays in all their works as one of the best bands ever. The albums may not all be equally good, but still I think they are all great. not many bands can be proud of releasing 4works so damn good.

I fucking like the first album of BAN... Cold and somehow "timeless" feeling. They never managed to do something better afterwards I think but it's a matter of tastes...

Now when I read their interviews it's another story... Even if I can agree with them on some points (the stupidity of BM crowd mainly), I think they should try a little bit of humility sometimes... They're just too pretentious.

I've heard a lot of good things about "the work..." maybe I should give it a try.

Without doubt "Ultima Thulee", "Fathers..." and "Work..." are for me the best works of BAS, and one of the best releases coming out France.... About Vlad, never heard them...

There are too many synths The EYE LP , that's for sure.
VLAD is very good but not fantastic.....
"Father..." is quite boring in my opinion
"The mystical...." is for me the best BAN. It is oppressive and unhealthy with some experimentations in the sound which makes it somewhat "original".....

Was the split BAN/Bekhira released ? or will it be released one day ?

Ok I understand what you mean. But "The mystical ... " is more straight forward, more linear and I really like this kind of riffs and structure that blows my brain off !!

From my side I recieved antiBAN flyers some years ago too, someone said to me that it was a reaction to an interview (I don't remember the fanzine...) in which BAN criticized the NS trend (again...)... or something like that.

The latest Blut Aus Nord album is amazing. The atmosfear is pure dread, I even hear some Godflesh influence on this one (which is can only be a positive thing).

The latest Blut Aus Nord, Aborym, Dusk and Temnozor albums are the best BM albums in the last year or 2 imo.
