New Nokturnal Mortum is out!! It calls The taste for Victory and is the return of this legendary Ukranian band! I have already heard it, is a bit diferent than the previous efforts, but the feeling is all there.

Is it as good as "Nechrist?" That's the only one I like - not as much synth as earlier albums.

Well if most of the people don´t like it, don´t listen to it... simple as that. The new album is more folk than the previous efforts but yes is in some way in the vein of Nechrist.

Being Evil or not isn't the real problem here. I believe we are old enough to go beyond this pseudo barrier. N.M is just a band that does not deserve any attention at least here.

Yes and Storm even more.... but I don't see any link between these bands.

I'm from England. Call me what you will, but I love Nokturnal Mortum. They're a bit of individuality in a somewhat nowadays bland black metal scene. I listen to some deeper stuff like Aryan Terrorism and Genocide Kommando but they just sound the same. Nokturnal Mortum adds something different and it sounds good to me. I'm a big fan of Slavonic BM e.g Drudkh, Hate Forest, Astrofaes, Lucifugum etc. But I think this band has something that the others don't seem to have. Something BM bands has lost along the windy road. The right and ability to be different?

Genocide Kommando isn't NS, or very deep either, whatever you meant by that.

When I say "deeper" I mean further from the common scene. Genocide Kommando are just an example of today's black metal. Just..the same. Nokturnal Mortum are different. This is the point I am making to you. GK are a different genre of BM to Nokturnal Mortum, yes. But GK's genre all sounds the same, even though it is good. Nokturnal Mortum varies their music, which makes it great. It's not everyone's thing, and as a metaller, I respect everyone else's tastes in music. But you have to appreciate individuality. Not many bands have it anymore.

But just solely for your information, it's on the cover of my Decayed album. I personally don't judge someone on their signature. I can't do those clever pictures or whatever..and to be honest, I don't think I would be arsed if I could. I'm the person you take as they are or you don't take it all. Quite agree... "To the gates..." "nechrist" and "goat horns" are superb, I can't really get my head around the fact that all these people apparently loathe them.

The track "return of vampire lord" in particular, is fantastic.

But, opinions are opinions.

Ok BoodShallRun, I get what you meant now with the "deeper" thing, just made me wonder with Aryan Terrorism next to GK. About beer/alcohol it's a great tool I think, another form of self destruction. Some of the most insane bands are pure alcoholics, Impact Winter, Lust, Krieg etc. And yes, bands should be credited doing something a bit different amongst all the raw "antilife" darkclones.

As if you and anyone else within Black Metal drink beer for self-destruction...!?
