Really great site !!!!

He has done some of the best artwork ever for Necromentia, Naked Whipper, Incantation Beherit (etc etc ...) but their new versions in colors are really not at my tastes...

Yeah, I would more than agree, the colored version really loose the "feeling"

edit : not to forget the really not good looking kind of "shape" effect..

agreed about the color schemes, especially with the older stuff ....

before i left Imprecation, we were corresponding with Mr. Moyen about the cover art for our upcoming disc and i personally voted for the cover to be done in black and white, which was not favored by the rest of the band....i quit the band later that year and they ended up using the color version (bleh) and released the early demos plus some newer material (first three trax)....plus, they never credited me or any of the original members on that disc, even though me and Phillip wrote 90% of that material....

the vociferous & machiavelian hate comp cd in color really did bug me

damn about the imprecation cd, I did not even realized it was chris moyen's work on it????

would love to have some b/w moyen art for a K 7 inch or somethin....

yes, with the Imprecation release i felt that all of the color took away from the "Moyen" aspect of everything

the original drawing looked so classic, i wonder why they requested the bright colors....but as i was sayin, i was already out of the band by that time and had no interest to pursue an answer

it was around 5 years ago.....and these guys were very personnal friends of him...

he thinks that demo is usually too "underground" to spread his art....( too much bands are making demos, bad distribution, and suddenly desapeared....so i mean too much "unserious" bands who asked him demo cover in the past...and he seems to be fed up with that....)

yes , you are right . Chris Moyen 's brother was the DISABLED guitarist. Fukk... so ... now i'm forced to release an Ep for he release a killer draw ! He told me last month that he actually work on the new Black witchery lp and Thornspawn tshirt.

the Necromantia drawing with Master S. using Jesus as a puppet will finnish as a tattoo on my flesh it seems...

Well I guess these days he has to do stuff in colour to broaden his market, but it still sucks to see the old covers in colour!!

I have to admit I don't appreciate this kind of draws!!! But he is undoutably a great designer!!!!!

It´s a matter of taste...but the guy has done so many fucking awesome artworks..Incantation, Beherit, Black Witchery...I´ll really try to have his work on the cover of the next Tenebrae release...No offense Mr. Sataere, you´ll still be doing the layout eheh..

Best art works he has done for BEHERIT, ARCHGOAT, DEMONCY ('The Holy Skull') & not to forget NECROMANTIA's 'Puppetchrist' ... next to that his www is awesome as well ...
