were talkin about a gig in Ghent next month with Lugubrum but mr perversifier's slower then a nigger with no legs at a welfare race gettin back to me

no southern US tours, maybe another west coast, no more east coast..those fuckers have seen us enough...maybe if theres ever another texas fest i could beg to get on heh

I mean, yes, I would like to see Demoncy again, but I seriously doubt I will ever have a true chance of seeing AntaeuS live in America, much less ever (If I do get to attend, you have to play every DAMN song you know - just for me!!!). I have to get there, but I don't know how at the moment...

I don't see how there is a difference between the blitzkrieg festival and the gods of blasphemy festival really. If you want to see Antaeus bad enough you will make the trip. I took a 4 hour plane trip from Baltimore, MD to Chicago just to make the blitzkrieg fest since it is very rare to get a line-up that is that solid in the states. Seems that fans in the usa won't show up to shows unless it takes place in their own backyard sometimes (and even then they might not show and use the car troubles excuse).

Bring ur cds and ill grab someone up in the collar and make sure you get to play them. Bring some Darkthrone,Bahimiron,Von and Belmez. Ill be in a particularly violent mood that nite.

Mr. NECROGOD as soon as the phillipino kids are done pressing our vynil in the plant, we'll have one for you (it is definitely going to be a big step for Bahimiron as I think we haven't pulled out anything sounding like this before).

Now if Neil could just bug a little more for it to see the light before we all catch alzheimer, that would be nice...

Well the turn out for this event was extremely poor but it should be expected as this is the USA. I have a lot of pictures of Krieg and Antaeus so I will be getting them off my digital camera sometime soon to upload selected ones. Antaeus was amazing even though they faced sound issues and a shortened set (as they only played 20 mins most). I don't think over half a day of poor bands were needed especially with the end result of Antaeus set being cut. Either way the new line-up of Antaeus handled all issues and the end result was killer.

They had to shorten the show because it was too late ??? The place was supposed to close ? 20 minutes can be enough the taste the violence of Antaeus live but you've missed many tracks...

8-10 hours of plane to play 20 minutes or so, I'd be pissed eh...

Well again due to bad planning on the management side (no offence to Kyle because he flew them out here and all - he deserves support for that because it was a no win situation regarding money) they played for 20 mins as everyone had to be out of the place by midnight (as Kyle only had the place booked up till midnight as there was some "Lady's Night" dance bullshit going on afterwards - this is america you know?). The first bands (that took over half the fest time) were all forgotten by myself and many others as they just sucked for the most part. Show started 2 hours late with Cryptic. They weren't anything good at all. Thy Dying Light wasn't exactly my thing as they performed more of Thrash with harder vocals. Sumeria had a drummer who was pretty good and all but they weren't anything enjoyable so it was time for another cig break (which you can't smoke in clubs NY law). Missed most of the other bands while grabbing food or just being outside with Imperial, his girl and Blake (which I was told I didn't miss anything of worth). Teratism was good brutal black live. They ended with the song Tormentor which is always a way to get new fans. Hell Born wasn't at all what I expected. They seemed to play fine and all but I am not too much into boring death metal. Krieg played without a bassist and other then one mistake they played one of the best sets I have seen. The crowd response was overall weak for Krieg during the set but Imperial told me that later on everyone told him how well they did. After Krieg was Abazagorath which I missed most of due to leaving the club for a little bit. Demoncy came on next and played a solid set which is really amazing. I didn't really like the new album that much so I wish they played some more songs off their older material but every song they played was done well and the response they had was amazing. Antaeus then played and everything seemed to go well till Blake told me they were going to be cut off at midnight due to reasons mentioned above. During the third song or so the bass amp LSK was using was having problems running so they continued without her for one song (which she did an amazing job). The bass amp was then replaced/fixed during the next song and when she came back in the sound was horrible due to it being cranked so it drowned out the other instruments in the mix. Later during the set the guitarist on the left hand of the stage seemed to be having problems with his amp but they were fixed during that song so no major problems there. According to the setlist that was on stage they seemed to have not played around 5-6 songs at least but they were at least given a chance to end with Blood War III which was an amazing way to end the set. I will have to make it out to Paris for the Antaeus/Krieg gig in April so I can catch a full Antaeus set as it was beyond amazing to see them in action (even if it was just for 20 mins). Shame they played to maybe 40 people at most though. I really wish more people would show support for good underground european bands playing in the usa but I guess that is too much to ask for if it isn't in their backyards.

40 people.....were there 40 people at the fest the whole time or did people leave before the good bands? You'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to go to a kick ass concert like that and leave before the main act! Any drunk fights?

No drunken fights and around 40 people in general (including bands). Even though Antaeus set was cut short I don't even see why an american audience deserves to see them in action. People in the usa normally don't show up if it isn't in their backyards and even then they would say their car broke down or they were short on cash. People bitch and moan that the usa never gets any good underground black metal acts but when we do Antaeus gets graced with an amazing total of 40 people. Either way I will see a complete Antaeus set in the future so I have no worries.

AntaeuS,despite the sound problems really killed,and from the beggining of "Inner War" they were just on a completley different page than any of the other bands.

That they had to be rushed in maybe the only time they will ever play in the US was BEYOND frustrating but Im glad i got to see what i did.I'll have some pics up in a week or so.

20 minutes can be enough the taste the violence of Antaeus live but you've missed many tracks...

you are correct,it would have...but i had seen the setlist,and after 4 songs they wanted to shut them down,but gave them 5 minutes,so they were going to try to play 3 more songs,and after the first of those,again they were told that,that was it for them,but they quickly played blood war III to end it,so it was a hectic and rushed experience for me,couldnt savor it.argggghhh! Nontheless,what they did play was fucking excellent!

as Kyle only had the place booked up till midnight as there was some "Lady's Night" dance bullshit going on afterwards - this is america you know?

Yes, I would have to agree. I cannot believe that AntaeuS flew that far for that little time...Hell, I was pretty miffed that I flew up, but that 20 or so minutes will live with me until the next time if there is one...

I do not want to blame anyone for the show's unceremonious ending, but someone should have monitored the time more efficiently. Hell, I guess we should "thank our lucky stars" that AntaeuS did not headline! I did think it lame that AntaeuS was playing, they were between songs, and Kyle got on the mike and said, "That's it. Now everyone get the fuck out!" I know that Kyle took it in the shorts with the low turnout, but I thought that was rather lame. I must say "thank you" to Kyle for making it happen though.

Sucks that Forest of Impaled did not get to play, because their new album is really good...I could have done without most of the early bands. Heck, it would have been cool to only have four or five bands, and start/end the show early to give people time to hang out. Hell, even the vendors were taken off guard by the midnight deadline...

Jose is right about AntaeuS - an entirely different plane altogether...Supreme violence...I thought the way the band handled the adversity was commendable. Even when LSK's bass dropped they soldiered on...To quote MkM, "We are cursed even here..." I must say that this line-up is lethal. I hope they record with it.

it was a really stressfull weekend for me, and expensive due to some probs with my hotel taking my car away and having to spend 100 USD to get it back...

antaeus were orgasmic for me, even if it was so short..100000 times better than their gig w/nargaroth last year...totally what I had hoped for

hmmm yes I see your point...but as far as the promotion of the gig was, it was very below par...I only found out about it via a certain forum...and that was the only source of promotion.,...and that was promoting a gig for "Marduk, Cryptopsy, Sodom and Doro" I mean, fuck, I only would have banged by head with Sodom, the others i dont care for, buyt I paid my ticket....lost $80 for it and thats that....seems tha you even were mistake about Napalm Death...so really the whole event was crowded with unconfirmed information....the event was doomed in my opinion from the start....there was not enough time to prepare, promotion of such a "one off" gig was poor....bringing 4 bands to Oz from the otherside of the world for 1 gig was never going to happen....

I have nothing against Mark...he gave it a shot....but his shot missed by a mile...

moving on....the only "extreme" festivals annualy are Bloodlust and Armageddon Adeleide....thats it....2 events for the whole fukking continent.....Bloodlust this year was great....I enjoyed most of the event....but alas...

Half of those 40 people were probably there for the shit metal! The fest was 18+ ,correct?

Well Kyle swears the door count was 106 but there were nowhere near that amount of people in the place while Antaeus was performing. Even if it was 106 it is still a piss poor turnout. Enough dwelling on the shitty turnout though as it was great to witness the violence that Antaeus performed.

Huh ???? inheritance is a fucking great album !! 'modern' compared to angel of death which is quite normal, but I really like it too, give a second listen to "Dream killer". A best of/re-released stuff is out now.

I agree angel of death is better with tracks like crucifixion but yes try 'dream killer' which is the best track of the second album.

I enjoyed myself at this fest despite the weak turnout--I liked The DYing Light, Dimentianon (missing a guitarist due to a freak accident), Krieg killed as usual, Demoncy were good yet again, and Antaeus smoked.

The rest of the bands I could care less about.

Kyle always does a good job putting these shows together.

Good to see some familiar faces. I'm torn about the turnout, on one hand shows like these need more people to have more shows in the future. On the other hand, I'd hate to see a show like this overrun by little kids/wiggers etc..

it could be much worse on our end..besides the financial loss at leat there were some die hards in attendence (though our bass player didnt even come to the gig, real support there)

there were a lot of really bland bands, future shows should have a higher concentration of quality

it does suck really bad for antaeus though, what a fuckin mess

It would be ideal, I suppose, if everyone could at least break even financially

hahaha..you noticed about playing with no shoes. I always practice with Dr Martens Steel toe boots. When I play live or record the boots come off and I play twice as fast and don't get tired.

I do the same with sticks. I practice with Vater Rock sticks (super thick with nylon ball tip)...and when playing live I use Vater 5Bs. Same as the boots...I play twice as fast and don't get tired.

Is it possible for you to send me the pics you took of KRIEG? Also, the ones we took outside the club?

a $300 plane ticket just was not in my budget, along with the expenses for hotel, merch, food, hookers, etx.....had this fest been around the South then i would have at least tried to drive to the motherfucker....
