SCD + Suffocation should be a killer bill don't you think
I think they are meant to perform in Rennes, so I'll try to attend this one myself
or Paris hopefully !!!

These are good news!
Still haven't managed to see them live... although they did play in Orleans (but during my Bdx xperience).

All the feedback concerning their gigs was really good, so I just expect something nice from these gentlemen!

Great for them !!! Their new album is more Brutal Death as far as I heard...

Mkm
17-04-03, 19:47
itz pretty much grindcore to me, like their first
the sound is just "slightly" different though but not that much

they are still in their own veins

(vokalz are more upfront I think)

JenOside33
17-04-03, 20:56
Damn actually now I think I want to do the Amarillo date too...my car better stand it or I'm gonna go medieval on its ass

jmincemoyer
18-04-03, 03:11
Stateside metalheads might want to check out this show with local listings, the venue or organizer...Suffocation is not playing with SCD in Norcross, Georgia! If they play anywhere else I shall surely KILL!

I received this information from an acquaintance in Atlanta whose info/opinion I trust...If something changes I'll be sure to post...

Archgoat
18-04-03, 07:13
actually I havent seen suffo mentioned for any of the gigs

wish I had a venue name for the NJ one, I could contact and find out

Mkm
18-04-03, 11:57
well I must say that there are like two diff "versions" of this tour
don't know really what to think
anyway it seems the scd will fly overthere at the end of may
so with or without suffo they shall be in the bush land

HailHorrorJose

jmincemoyer
18-04-03, 17:30
Demoncy must be Atlanta-based, as I got confirmation that they will be opening up the Norcross, Georgia show with three or four other support bands...So, looks like SCD is the headliner...

HailHorrorJose
18-04-03, 18:16
damn
i hope they get decent support anyway

Krieg
18-04-03, 18:36
Sublime playing with Demoncy hmmmm it's quite strange, but by the way SCD will blast all the bands playing that night (the others night too).

I guess they've got to jump on some show...When I go to metal shows in Atlanta there's always this chain-smoking skin there who tells everyone he's in Demoncy now...Or he's the reason the band was on hiatus or something...I don't know...Comes off as a fucking pose...

I'm going to try to make this gig as I would really like to catch SCD...The new album is so sick!

HailHorrorJose
14-05-03, 03:03
i think demoncy is like ixithra and session members now..
and everything will stay in the vein of the new album (which i havent heard yet but hear negative comments about)

jmincemoyer
14-05-03, 05:59
Isn't the new album out on Blood Fire Death? What does Mr. Archgoat have to say about it?

Mkm
20-05-03, 14:25
the newest demoncy showz a different side of the band
I had hard time at the first listening
but now it gets on me somehow

maybe I'm just not objective on this matter

about the SCD tour, they are leaving france tomorrow morning
off to lisboa (portugal) & then NY

Witnessed SCD last night for the first time...The brutality was incredible! After dealing with some early sound problems, they were punishing. I've never heard blasting like that - Yov is amazing. Sebastian's vocals were some of the sickest ever - he was breathing pretty hard towards the set's end. Funny though, he's growling, gurgling, whatever you call it, and he's smiling at the same time. I wish I could see them in a club with a better sound system...

(JenO - that SCD disc will be on its way come early next week! I'm visiting family this weekend...)

Demoncy played their second show ever...Pretty long set. The skinhead I spoke about earlier happens to be the singer...Good screeching, but needs to work on his guttural style a little more. The new material is faster and more Scando-influenced than the barbarism ala "Joined in Darkness". I got to speak with Ixithra, the drummer, and he confirmed that their new material was more melodic. He also confirmed that they were playing the Return of Darkness and Evil fest in New Jersey.

Brodequin played as well, and they were pretty typical hyperspeed gore metal...Not bad for a trio, but after the first song, all the songs seem to blur into one...They definitely lacked the dynamics of SCD...

JenOside33
29-05-03, 23:23
John, I haven't had time yet but I PROMISE I will get your tape going to you sometime next week. Thanks for the show review also btw!!

Mkm
29-05-03, 23:27
John, di d you get to talk to any of the scd guy??
from the email I got, it seems that 3/4 of them are really satisfied so far

did you get to take pictures from Demoncy?

when you use the term "skinhead", do you mean "political ideology" or just hair problems? (eheh)

Krieg

It sounds strange "SCD playins in the Usa" heheh, hope they'll tour again, quite soon in France.

Vince
29-05-03, 23:45
They should tour in France and then Europe in the end of the year (autumn). It's not 100% sure, but that what they plan it seems.

Mkm
30-05-03, 00:10
yes they should tour in the end of sept or oct
maybe with cephalic carnage inhume & others...

Mr. MkM,

Hail! Yes, I got to speak with Sebastian, Yov and the second guitarist (I didn't catch his name...). I was shocked and happy to find out that Yov and Bruno (Does he have a nosering? If so, I did not speak with him.) were in Antaeus! I told Yov about my love for AntaeuS and how much I wanted to visit France, drink beer and enjoy some good Black Metal. We talked about drumming, triggers and "De Principii Evangelikum".

They seemed happy to be there, but they did look a little tired. Yov told me that he wished the crowd was bigger -the crowd was pretty small (35 -40). The crowd did not move, but once they got the microphone problems figured out the crowd was really receptive after every song. I would imagine that Forum users would say the crowd was lame...

Sometimes it was hard for me to understand Yov as his accent was really thick...They all spoke English well...Sebastian was great and really happy about being in America; about our interview that we did the week before they left...Like I said, when he was up there growling, he had a sly smile on his face...

No, I did not take any photos...I do not own a camera...Funny, I was thinking while watching that if I had a camera I would like to post them in the Forum...Some guy was shooting video, but before I could talk to him he left...

I do not know if the singer of Demoncy is a "Nazi" skin, but he is definitely bald...He was wearing a Beherit shirt and a scowl before/after the show...During the show he wore a long black cossack coat with spiked gauntlets on each arm and subtle corpse paint. They impressed enough people that the Deathgasm distro sold out of Demoncy CDs...I bought two SCD CDs, but I didn't see anyone else...The digipack of the new CD is KILLER!!!

(JenO - No worries...I know how things get at times...)

JenO,

No problem...I'll be sending the SCD promo to you this week...

For everyone,

If you haven't seen the SCD digipack of their new CD it is amazing...4 panel fold-over with each progressive panel showing further deterioration (sublime decomposition) of the child featured on the front...Decays down to maggots on the CD...Each panel, when opened, features live shots (B&W) of the band members...No lyrics, but a very nice, and from what I can gather, expensive piece of gore...Actually, one of the better and nicer packages I've ever seen...Sebastian said he designed everything...

JenOside33
03-06-03, 05:37
Damn I can't wait to see it !!

Sebastian has always been an amazing drawer...

A Quick Review

there was only about 30 or so people crammed into this tiny room
the stage was so small that only the drummer and his kit could fit on it,so the guitar players and singer were right next to the crowd which was practically stuffed in the doorway since this room was so small..anyway most of the people in attendance knew the band, and even some french people from america came.Even Sebastian's vocal soundchecking got cheers from the crowd. The band fucking totally pummeled, the drums were ridiculously fucking loud and Sebastian was all over the place. It seemed almost claustrophobic to have three vocalists all roaring at the same time, and due the extremely high violence level of the music it wasnt long before there was moshing and slamming, which meant people slamming into sebastian, who would be pretty much unaffected by this, half the time he would launch himself back at the people and still hit every note.I think they played 27 songs tonight for about 40 mins or so,20 of these were from the new album which i picked up earlier, which has an amazing quadrafold layout.Anyway, this band was 1000 times better than i imagined, and one of the most violent bands on the fuckin earth( and the closest i come to seeing AntaeuS) :D

P.s.
This Venue Uncle Joes Bar BLOWS

JenOside33

Mkm

that's what they had most of the time on this tour, us gigz are always like that or so, but still they had good conditions so itz at least a nice new !!!

I disagree, even our very first show brought more than 30 or so people...it's all a matter of how much they've heard the band like everywhere else

but...30 people really into it it's much better than more just sitting at the bar

Mkm
17-06-03, 21:01
how many people were there at the sacrifice of the na chi last year
judgin from the video
it seems like just a few xtra people than the band themselves

eheh Immo in nj, I guess there were 40/50 but all were there for the hardcore bands openin, & maybe 6/7 for Immolation really

JenOside33
17-06-03, 21:08
Well you gotta ask Alex about the last SOTNC 'cause we didn't go heh...I think for this fest it was for different reasons since the last 3 years we went there was always a good crowd and even people coming from Europe for it.
I'd say on average we've had around 100 people at shows, it's still not much true but it can make a pretty good crowd even though small, we wouldn't ask for much more.
