I totally agree ! Tory Amos also made some really interesting covers too, and I'm not particulary thinking of the Slayer one, which has nothing in commun with the original, except the lyrics.

If you're looking for metal tracks made by a metal band, you have Necrony's Necronycism Distorting The Originals. 12 Death Metal tracks, mostly Carcass, but you have some Repulsion, Bolt Thrower or Napalm Death as well. One of my favorite Cd, but it may be pure nostalgia.
