Rape&Honey No. 2 featuring FUNERAL MIST is out now after several delays. Inquiries: rottingdaisies@hotmail.com

I will be in Berlin for a week starting Sunday to attend the Nuclear War Now! Fest so my email access will be sporadic. I will do my best to answer any/all inquiries in a timely manner.

Issue 2 is bigger and features better layout/design. I still have copies of Issue 1 with Razor Of Occam available for those that might be interested.

Thank you for your support.

If it's in depth, really curious to read the Funeral Mist interview. Does anyone have the zine yet?

I think it is quite in depth. Demented Ged bought copies and I sold one to Nasko this past weekend in Berlin. Maybe they will post something soon.

Very nice, I still think one A3 for Rzor is a bit short, non?
It's really a nice piece and the Funeral mist is quite good looking, everyone into FMist should get it.
One little thing: since it's packed with (nice little) bits, one needs the plastic exterior sheet to keep everything together (or you lose bits between the toilets, the bedroom's bedsit, and the bookshelves of the library you know).
--> more solid.
--> print on it?
Really worth it, thx Jim.

How long's the FM interview?

Right at 5000 words.

P.,

Regarding the inserts...To have printed the ad on a page would have called for an increase in pagination which meant another four (4) pages. I want to keep the transparency and postcard which are unique to Rape&Honey. I could not find transparent envelopes to hold half-sheet size. Plus, the transparent envelopes used in Issue 1 were rather expensive...

Thanks for the kind words and thank you for your support.

Issue is selling well. Copies went to AJNA this week and Aquarius Records (San Francisco) will be taking some copies on consignment. Will send those out early next week.

Met Arioch on Tuesday evening in Atlanta as Marduk was making a tour stop. Was an honor to meet him and present him copies in person.

If anyone is interested Issue 3 will feature WeapoN. Will start writing next week...

A clarification if I may. 5000 words is about twice as long as a normal four-page spread that one would read in Terrorizer which can fluctuate depending on the graphics used from 2400 to 2600 words.

Ged,

Hello, sir. Yes, I did receive your email. Cheers for that! I'm honored to be the first zine reviewed on your website! I cannot wait to see your review of Issue 2.

Issue 3...WeapoN. This will be as Issue 2. I interviewed Vetis Monarch for Terrorizer, but was only given 600 words. Mr. Monarch had many interesting things to say that I could not publish in only 600 words. So I will take that foundation and expand upon it like I did with Funeral Mist.

I hope to have Issue 3 out by February if all goes well...maybe sooner but not sure.

Lastly, feedback has been great! I really appreciate everyone's support.

Aquarius Records review:

*Note: This is a review of Issue 2, not Issue 1.

RAPE & HONEY "Issue One: Funeral Mist" magazine 3.00
Oaken Throne is dead. Sad but true, that beloved magazine
chronicling all things black and grim, dark and sonically adventurous,
has been laid to rest, a labor of love for sure, but it got to the
point where no amount of love could sustain the amount of labor that
went into producing each issue. So sad. We still have copies of the
last few issues, so do grab them while you can, and while OT is gone,
one half of the team behind OT, John Mincemoyer, is forging ahead with
his own idiosyncratic magazine, Rape & Honey. Not so much a magazine
as a broadsheet, it's a handful of pages, each issue focused on a
single band, we still have a few copies of issue one, which was all
about Razor Of Occam, but this second issue, expanded to nearly twice
the size of number 1, might be of even more interest to most of the aQ
faithful, being as its focus is on longtime aQ favs, the mighty
Funeral Mist.
You can read our rants and ravings about Funeral Mist elsewhere
on the aQ site, we gushed about pretty much every FM release, even
going so far as to make Maranatha our Record Of The Week a while back.
But Rape & Honey Takes you even deeper, incorporating interviews,
background, history, reviews, musings, plus Mincemoyer is an excellent
writer, and Funderal Mist are indeed fascinating subjects. 8 pages, 8
1/2" by 11", full color, plenty of illustrations, with two printed
full color inserts, as well as a Mincemoyer penned Funeral Mist review
printed on a cool colored transparency. A great read, and a killer
object de' metal art, WAY recommended, to fans of the band of course,
but also folks who read Terrorizer and Oakan Throne and Decibel and
the like, plus it's super cheap! Skip a cup of coffee and read all
about one of our favorite bands...
