French blackmetalers AOSOTH have inked a deal for two albums with Agonia Rec. The first full length of that collaboration, intitled "Ashes of Angels" will be released in january 2010.

Tracklisting is as follows :

5. Teaching/Erasing

The album is currently being mastered at BST Studio (VORKREIST, ANTAEUS, HELL MILITIA, THE ONE) in France.

Why did they change to Agonia anyway?

I'm sure Agonia promises a lot of money and maybe other support (tours?). And by this I don't mean that Aosoth is after the money, but a possibility to record in a better studio etc. People are often talking shit about Agonia and I've never done any business with them, but the fact is that it's quite hard to get their releases from here.

Agonia is doing the LP version as well.

As I already wrote, I was not meaning you signed there for money, hell, noone's making money with this music, that's not a secret. But maybe more possibilities to tour, to be longer at studio etc? It's all about taking the music to next level and it's okay, IF the promised things happens. I have no personal opinions towards Agonia, it's just a fact that the distribution is shit in here and that's because the deals don't always work how they're agreed on.

I have my own negative experience with agonia, that I am not going to mention here. but why not? agonia appeals to much more mainstream audience, than even THR. so, if Aosoth wants the sheep to appreciate their music (or "spread the gospel"), this contract is a perfect way to do it, even if myself I can't remember any distro, that carries their releases, they seem to sell their CDs somewhere to somebody.

So without them, the album would have been again & again postponed...

Who the fuck cares?
The point is Aosoth (and indeed Temple of Baal as well) are finally getting better support from a better label which is not only well-earned but well-deserved. Again, total support.
