View Full Version : Beherit returns!
http://www.anus.com/metal/about/interviews/beherit/
the new album will be out in 2009: Engram
I am afraid that this will do harm to their "cult" reputation. In earlier interviews Holocausto said: Beherit should be let alone, and rest in peace.
We will see...
fucking news.
'can't wait the release.
I hope the same old "aura" will be on theses songs.

Haha.
What is/was most characteristic of Beherit?
-To be the first black metal band of Finland. And that Beherit truly was. So let us let Beherit rest in peace.
Is it possible for Beherit to make a comeback now that Holocausto has re-appeared in the form of Suuri Shamaani?
-No. Absolutely and positively not.
Quote from anno 2000.
It seems ok to me if he just decided otherwise. Now let's see if it will be good or if they fail.

Well, those words are 9 years old... anyone can turn back the clock i think
& the beherit from the early days had nothing to do with the latest works
Beherit ends with "ddtm" for me
the era after is another chapter

Hmmm... did you say the same thing when Archgoat were back ?
Maybe you're right but
I'll make my own opinion when I'll listen to the album.
The thing with Archgoat is that they managed to pull one of the very very few worthy comebacks.
Yeah, and Lord Angelslayer never happened to be a techno dj in the nineties...
Is there some unwritten law about being a techno dj that I haven't heard of?

Hoooo bad bad bad guy ! You know, you have to be an electronic 'music' luver now to be considered as a subversive person.
Well, I like their later stuff, though "DDTM" is the worst their output (yeah, yeah, c`mon spit on me, hehe). "Messe des Mortes" rules, btw... Hope the newer material will be in that vein (as it's hardly believable it will be alike "OOTBB")...

For me The Oath of Black Blood is the deadliest stuff Beherit ever did. Now with so much time gone by, I really doubt they could capture that aura again. Times change, people get older and lose the spirit. Archgoat was worthy of a comeback...for Beherit, I'll get the new album out of curiosity. We may end up surprised, in a bad or good way.

if they would try even for something in vein of DDTM i think it would just be forced and contrived after so much time
here you have it...

Beherit has return with original members Nuclear Holocausto (having returned to Finland from Thailand), Sodomatic Slaughter and newcomers Ancient Corpse Desekrator and Abyss. The new album will be a return to the black metal genre, and also marks Beherit's return to a full band configuration after existing as a solo project from 1994 until its disbandment in 1996. The album, entitled Engram, is the band's third black metal album (fifth overall) and first in 14 years.
Nuclear Holocausto — vocals, guitar
Sodomatic Slaughter — drums
Ancient Corpse Desekrator — guitar ( Thy Serpent)
Abyss — bass
Great news! We have really to heard how it will sound..!
I'm looking forward to this. I got word of this from one of Spinefarm's people back in November when I was visiting Helsinki. Made my hair stand on end. Finns have incredible quality control on a long timeline. Don't know how that works, but it is very welcome.

Lets hear it ! Who knows....something worthy after DDTM.....
I thought "Electric Doom Synthesis" was actually quite good. It still sounded like Beherit, but in a different form. All the same, bring on the guitars!

I had the oportunity to check the wholesale prices for this record and it is ridiculous!!!
Not so sure they will manage to distribute much of this.
Hopefully they will be a bit more realistic and change the prices.

I second that, laughed pretty much... better will wait for some leather-book bootleg for the same price postpaid! :D
P.S. I'll post here a download link for some loseless format as soon as I track it... :fuk:

It's SpineFarm (SpikeFarm in this case). Bunch of J*ws. We had to go to court with them because of our record deal (one of my bands). Fucking amateurs. They have quite big distribution network so you can find new Beherit from supermarkets and big recordstores. Do not hope that they'd bring down the wholesale prices as they don't have to.

Same here.... But they will manage to distribute lots of it, I am sure, don't think they will lower the prices before they are satisfied with sales.

Yes, Marko was here in NZ travelling and played us some songs off it, Engram is a worthy successor to DDTM...
Still no samples available?

Anyone knows in what physical form comes the release, btw? Simple jewel-case, digi or what?

Which was not DMB by any chance? I was just wondering because of your nick and the fact that that band released their third album there? But if so, is DMB still active?
The samples seem to capture the "old" spirit. We will see...

Reminds me of a metal version of Electric doom synthesis...
the new album is great, the last track is one of the most interesting song the band done to date.
Have heard it multiple times so far. The repetive riff usage in all songs is making it. But again the schizophrenic change from suffering the world from song to song is giving it a personal note. So far disapointing are only the guitar parts in the slower songs. At least i´m also attracted by the lyrical apporach. Its my World.

I think the album is worthy. But it lacks the atmosphere of previous releases, mainly due to the production which is actually very modern.
This sounds like TOBB with better production, an album created between TOBB and DDTM just recorded 15 years later.
The vocals are somewhat low in the mix and that grasp that worked so well in DDTM is even lower in the mix.
The compositions are all alike and so does 80% of the riffing.
Overall its a good album and after so many years I think Beherit are back in a good track.....they have just been on a better one. I still believe in them, in the future they will bring more.
too polished, where's the dirt?
I don't think the lack of "dirt" is a real problem. Beherit has a reason to exist and that's the main thing here. At first I thought this reunion would be a joke but I am surprised. This is one of the few comeback albums that is really worthy!
Got the album, I really like it, pure Beherit, just had to get use to the "actual sound".
The influence of the Thy Serpent guy can be heard.
(I luuuuved the demo).
Music and vox sounds less "from beyond" than Drawning.
Less "original" but worth the try.
Hope that the incoming release will sound like DDTM!
but I'll wait to listen the album...
wait and cum or wait and bleed ahah!
(ok bad joke srry )
Just listened to the samples and found the vocals a bit "dry". Will try to listen to the whole album but I'm quite positively surprised by the result I heard.
Well , not as great as old stuffs but still this BEHERIT touch !
Some songs are a bit useless but in my point of view 10 times more black metal than the actual shit !
