Resurrection ov the Kult was decent. Generic, but decent. Seems like every band is following the Swedish orthodox cult regarding image and lyrics, but we'll see. Even if it's a band wagon, it's a much more interesting approach than most other black metal waves.

Hope this is something more interesting than the last Ofermod.

IMO this isn't following any "orthodox" band but some melodic mid 90ies stuff.

Hm, artwork SO reminding one French band, music SO reminding another Finnish one, all the rest is SO reminding of the Swedish gang in general... It seems someone tried TOO much this time... :rolleyes:

true UG indeed...

what if they just print it in a xerox cover tape ? then it would be more true?

c'mon this stuff is ok. If it was a bit less melodic and a bit more raw (production wise maybe) it would be great...

Waouh guys!!! I'm not speaking about the music (i have listen to the sample, its ok stuff, too melodic indeed), it's just the way to spread their stuff through online music that is fucking stupid.

When i said UG, is nothing about xerox or wtf, its just this kind of marketing way, that is for me, definitely not very Black Metal. And BTW, i think same for others styles of music ; "download the music and play on your ipod", really a beautiful future for music. Sorry, but i prefer to have the stuff in my hands, to be a tape, cd or vinyl.

Thats all.

So they sell at iTunes. Where's the problem?
If people are stupid enough to give cash for mp3 files, that's none of anyone's business.

I'm not talking about the music either (as I haven't even heard it). But the point is that the entire 'music industry' is changing and it would be strange if the black metal bands wouldn't come up with "new" ways of distribution as well. I prefer to listen to vinyls too, but as F:M said, if people are stupid enough to pay for mp3's that's their problem.

Just because people are willing to pay doesn't make it "ok". Some integrity is always welcome. A gang of really lame people might want to buy your music but if you go out of your way to peddle to them then it's kind of shit, in my opinion

Think of the bands who exhaust the effort with myspace and so on then have trouble to move their CDs.

Still, haven't heard the band so excuse the hot air

We're in 2009. And you have read the news about the album on an online message board, not on xeroxed fanzine. And you have maybe listened to the MP3, not bought a demo tape. And you have replied through a computer keyboard, not with a pen through snail mail.
All this discussion is bullshit.

Same goes for the discussion about "orthodox" bla bla and rip off bla bla. As soon as a band sounds black metal, it's labeled as orthodox, and supposed to be a new trend.

People have too much time to complain about everything every now and theN.

Yeah, and I too use MP3 player for each ride on public transport. In which I downloaded the music for. But this isn't the full release, is it? Who lays in their bed with an IPOD and earphones listening to black metal at home?

Fuck this "move on with the times" and dump art, lyrics, a physical package.

I don't mean to use STORMNATT as an example, but it's an indication of something that might someday render any writing on paper or art in my hands a piece of archeology.

Book = PDF
Painting = JPEG
Music = MP3

I'd like to hear from someone who embraces this for any reason other than convenience

and discussions = message boards

which is exactly what you're doing now...

I personaly don't buy nor download MP3's. So I can understand your point view, since my preference will also go to LPs then CDs.
But I won't blame the fact that the band makes its songs available on itunes, be it for example to just buy one song to have an opinion about the release.

+ I use deezer to listen to some music sometimes, or I browse myspace band pages to discover new stuff and then buy the release. What's the problem with that ?

I sometimes use my mp3-Player to listen to albums that I think work best with headphones. The Darkspace albums are a good example.

Wireless headphones are generally shit and my couch's too far away from my hifi system for my normal headphones to reach so I use my mp3-player.

Also, I like to experience certain albums outside, which an mp3-player is simply perfect for.

But I still buy the CDs/LPs, because it's part of the whole experience, in my opinion. Nothing like an LP-sized booklet and a gatefold with some supreme artwork.

Books I'd never consider reading on the computer, except for stuff like verb conjugation collections - being able to find the desired word with merely a few keystrokes is something I wouldn't want to miss, to be honest.

But reading novels or philosophical works on the computer? No, simply no. It's a strain on the eyes and I find I pay a lot less attention too.

Yeah of course, when I go camping / hiking I don't take 5 DLPs and some demo tapes with me. I simply rip my stuff, or download it to my pc from one of those rapidshare blogs.

Perversifier, yes I'm using a digital message board to communicate. In a perfect world I'd fly to Paris for a round table discussion with you and our friends from Russia, Austria, but for now we'll yield to one of the good aspects of technology.

seriously could anyone in a messageboard claim that he doesnt worship technology? anyway , the question remains the same ... whats the problem with mp3s , since you still buy cds lsp etc ? it just makes easier the decision , and prevents you from filling your room and ears with garbage... simple as that
