None answers - but I can hear them LOL and PTPO.
can't say i'm that excited though i used to like them quite a lot. but it will be pretty interesting to see if arioch can improve their music in some way apart from the vocals; i'm more or less expecting a copy of the triumphator album "wings of antichrist" where arioch also did the vocals which was pretty good but not near the works of his main band
And still no words have reached my ears if there ever will be another Funeral Mist album...
Has anyone been to the first show with the new vocalist in Hamburg?
Aris, if you think it is uninteresting, why do you post it here ?
On my side, I think the fact that Arioch will be vocalist on that one makes it interesting enough (or could make it) ... we'll see.
WOGS, the quote in your signature is quite provocative, esp with the average audience here, but not far from absolute truth, eheh

well I "said" uninteresting because I had very little information...but I posted it 'cause I came across this.

why wouldn't there? have i missed something?
@Carven, i'd say it's very true; there are an equal number of morons within black metal as in society in general, which means a lot
Fuck it!! Arioch is Marducks' only saving grace now. They release too many fucking albums in short time. Burn in hell!
Well I'm curious to listen to it.
And after several listenings, "La Grande Danse Macabre" and "World Funeral" were quite descent releases... There are some songs I didn't like on WF (To The Deathshead true and Castrum Doloris) but stuff like "Hearse", "World Funeral" or "Night Of The Long Knives" were great.
And I like the fact that they slowed down some songs. The result is great. I'm not a fan of "Panzerdivision", so...
Great, I can't wait to hear their new vocalist.

Yeah, I was at that show in Hamburg (but that was not the first show with the new vocalist, they already played one or two shows in May I think), and at the listening session of the new album. Indeed, Marduk is back damnit
No longer "you are the most fantastic public, we looooove you", Arioch (=Mortuus in Marduk) is doing a fucking good job. Also lyrically-wise. And you can be sure that they know fucking well what they are doing.
I think all the new slower marduk songs are extremely boring, they break the pace of the album... Hopefully there will be some, if not faster, then at least more inventive songs on the new one.

inventive yes, but i think the albums would be unbearable without some slower songs like the title track from la grande danse macabre which is terribly good, i really can't see why so many dislike that album, i think it's one of their better and a lot more interesting than PDM for example

I'm divided on their attempts to vary their albums. While there are no songs by Marduk that I don't think are somewhat enjoyable at least, I do think sometimes it works against the momentum of the albums. World Funeral is a good release, but you get hit with three songs in a row which are predominantly slow and it sort of throws off the feeling of the album. It would improve if they realized you don't have to play either only fast or only slow. Aside from the first 30 seconds of "Hearse" and "Bonds of Unholy Matrimony," every slow song they've written has kept the same tempo all the way through. The songs are all good, again, but maybe their placement on the album doesn't always work to their advantage.
I still like them. The actual albums usually only come out every two years. There's nothing excessive about that, though it does seem like you hear about a lot of mini-cds, EPs, re-releases, etc.
Favorite is still Heaven Shall Burn.... and the older stuff but enjoy all the albums.

after all the line-up changes I was hoping for something different...but after listening to the mp3, I realized, there obviously is no hope for such a thing.

Same. :'(
I quite like the song, i have some issues with the production but other than that i like it. Curious as to what you guys were expecting, it is still Marduk were talking about.

Agreed ... I thought the song was very promising. The album will probably be in the varied vein of the last couple but the sample indicates it could lay them to waste. Amazing speed by Emil and Arioch is a fine replacement on vocals.
Mmmm, I was not expecting anything from Marduk since I didn't buy any of their albums since Opus nocturne, I have to admit that on 'world funeral' there is a good track, but this one (Throne of rats) is .................................... uninteresting
I wasn't expecting anything special..but after all this line-up chabges..I thought they would try to make something that sounds different from the last 4 albums.
The riffs are same...the sound is same..and the vocal lines are the same!!!

I really dig the cover of the album but this Throne of Rats mp3 is dull & uninteresting.
