DISIPLIN guitarist General K has teamed up with Hellcommander Nattefrost (CARPATHIAN FOREST) and drummer Faust (ex-EMPEROR, DISSECTION) in a brand new band called HELVETE ("Hell" in Norwegian). Joining in on bass will be Invictus, and doing the vocals will be none other than Nocturno Culto (DARKTHRONE).

"-Hmmm, ok guys, what band configurations haven't we tried out here in norway yet..."

And why not using a name that's already cult ?

And now, how long will it take to name that style of them ?...

Those people really don't have much to do of their lifetime...

but In French, it sounds different ! Helvète = Helvetian !!!

Speaking of Nocturno Culto...have anyone seen the interviews that came with the (Arghhhh!) RE-MASTERED versions of the Peaceville DT records? Quite funny indeed...

Back on topic, there is already a (shitty) swedish band called helvete.
I wonder why they keep trying all these constellations, do they somehow think that one of them will bring back the "magic" of the early nineties? The way it seems to me is that these "superbands" almost strive towards sounding as conventional and boring as possible, i e "black&roll".

I say let´s see what are they gonna do, not all of this side projects or all star bands are that convencional and boring.

About bringing back the 90´s magic... I really don´t see that even as a possible goal.

Exactly, let's wait. After all, all those musicians have spawned worthy albums. And they have good tastes musically speaking. So it could be a good band.

By the way I've juste purchased the new Darkthrone album, Sardonic Wrath and it's very good ! Far better than Hate Them, makes me think about Plaguewielder, somehow, but with this great necro sound ! Damn... I wonder what amps NC uses to get this rusty guitar sound, it's just excellent !

Today's Black Metal bands tune down the guitars. That is certainly not the sound of the early 90's.

Anyway I used a 5150 once (lended by one of Yyrkoon's guitar players) and the sound was definitely killer, but quite far from NC's one !

5150 is great, but with "specially tuned" he must meen pedals or studioeffects. I have a fucking 15 watt squier amp that with the proper tweaking and a MZ2 pedal sounds pretty similar to the sound on Sardonic Wrath.

If there are maniacs in such a band and tney do "maniac" stuff, it´s far more intressting then one more NSBM group...

hard to believe but they claim all releases would be in tape format , in black and white only.

There is a strong probability this project will not enter History but i will wait to hear it before the bash.
