Yes first two Carcass Lp's are great. Also some old great grind bands are Nuclear Death, Repulsion,. there were thousands of grind bands arround but this 3 i like the most.Good stuff are some Impetigo songs,Blood,Brujeria,Fear of God,Unseen Terror, of course the split LP from Disharmonic Orchestra and the great Pungent Stench side - well there are lots of more i forgot. Are there some good newer bands arround in the sick style of the first mentioned ?

Don't care too much for goregrind, too many funny bands. When I want gore I'll listen to real death metal like Autopsy, Carcass, Abscess, old Exhumed, first Death, old Broken Hope, Dismembered Fetus.

Ghoul is Ok but remains just a clone of Macabre.

i would have to disagree with you there. similar, but definitely not a clone. in my opinion, anyways.
besides most good gore bands are clones... mostly of carcass.
Embalmer is one band that as soon as i hear them, Macabre comes to mind.

I really don't see the reliationship between EMBALMER and MACABRE

really? the things i noticed most were the vocals, right from the start, those high vox are total macabre. some of the cheesy song intros(not samples, the guitars) a few of the riffs. not a rip off or clone of macabre by any means, but i see a few similarities.

Yeah yeah, very deep topic here, I must admit hum hum. And Ghoul has nothing to do with macabre, carcass, Cranium or even thrash metal in general.

Teach me please, "similar, but definitely not a clone" and then "sound nothing like Macabre." very interesting concept.

Give a shot to haemorr(h)age, Impaled, Exhumed, SCD and so on, but be aware that there is no Replusion influences here !!!

i like haemorrhage... and impaled, scd not so much... gruesome stuff relish is pretty good.
those two quotes are about two different bands. "similar, but definitely not a clone" (to macabre) this is referring to Embalmer... "sound nothing like Macabre." this is referring to Ghoul.
ghoul is pretty thrashy if you ask me.

so far we have no one who can touch the mighty carcass (circa necrotism) in the gore grind stakes, anyones thoughts on the berzerkers cover of corporal jigsaw quandary from disimulate?

Yep a shame this kind of band exists, as their cover of Morbid angel, shameful.

kraken south
26-08-04, 15:27
I agree there cover of morbid angel is quite shoking and very bad indeed, although the carcass cover was...ok (but not as good as the original)

I hate that carcass cover....
actualy I hate berzerkers.

it does sound pretty feeble compared to the original, but ive heard worse..anything from carcases swangsong album for example.

i mean "keep on rotting in the free world," what the hell was that all about?

MaggotMan

I actually found Swansong more interesting than Heartwork. That's right, though I sold both albums awhile ago. Don't see what the big deal was.

kraken south
27-08-04, 13:32
have to say i preffered heartwork, although what jeff walker thought he was doing singing about love on "no loves lost" is still a mystery to me,

i think the problem was that both albums were such a let down after necrotism. BUT were they could have gone from after that with that style is anyones guess.

"carcass recorded two monumental albums but began to expand their writing to include dual guitars, lyrics and imagery that had the longtime fans wondering what the hell is going on. after several attempts at attaining mainstream acceptability carcass disbanded. leaving behind 2 great albums and some other recordings that we all wish we could forget; carcass has earned their place in the underground."

my point (and his)? necrotism SUCKED!

kraken south

a matter of personal taste i suppose, although i did like and enjoy heartwork, i (and many others) found it a let down on the GORE GRIND stakes, (that also being what this post thread is about,) there possition in the undeground will certainly not be disputed by myself or any others. but no one can say that as far as gore grind goes both heartwork and the very bad sub megadeth meanderings of swangsong leavs a lot to be desired.

I remember on the SQUASH BOWLES/MALIGNANT TUMOR split-cd
and i must say, it“s dark, bloody, grim and totally gore-grind
release without any "funny" spirit; indeed you consider real
pictures of splattered and cutted persons as "funny"...
If you want the expierence of good gore-grind, pick-up this stuff. SB/MT spitCD "All the dreams come true"

Not that grind, more Death Metal, but I liked very much the new album of Cattle Decapitation.

Anyone remembers Dead Infection ? They had quite a following. Wasn't that much into their stuff myself but well...

Dead infection were quite good it's true but in the same vein (hehe) I prefer Sore throat.

Anyway try the famous and well known Impetigo, Blood, and the mighty Molaire from Denmark.

yes you are right their lyrics are not gore. but
So check "Cenotaph" the goremasters from Turkey.
"puked genital purulency" album is the one of the most brutal album I have been hearing.also "pseudo verminal cadaverium" is the best tech album.

Damn DEAD INFECTION are fucking great!!
I my view, it“s brutal, dark and violent sound&stuff and not
so much "professional" at all.
I must name here another gore-grind classic, its the nicely
MALIGNANT TUMOR/SQUASH BOWLES-SplitCD from the
mid-nintess. It has a cruel outlook and the music and sound
is very harsh, dark and brutal (of course, another "dark" as
in BM) at all.
By the way, don“t check MALIGNANT TUMOR of today... you
will vomit - "political correct somewhat-crust......" !!!
SQUASH BOWLES are back with brutal and gory stuff, but it“s
not the same feeling... i guess, today is there too much of this
stuff and the spirit flaws away... rememeber something?!?
