Hm ! Arckanum side gives me nothing special - just ok ! Svartsyn is much better and more extreme. Pure Black Metal Sound !

One of the best split cds ever IMO

the part of Arckanum is great! very strong songs, really intense riffs. Worth getting.

Svartsyn is also very good, but the two can't be compared since they play a different style. Svartsyn is more raw.

The Arckanum-Songs are in the same vein like the two ep´s: strong riffs, intensive Atmosphere, a bit rawe and uglier than the Albums, but definately worth to get!

Svartsyns Part of the Split is also awesome: Varied raw Black Metal with great Songs and an even greater Sound (definately one of the best Sounds for a Black Metal-release i´ve ever heard).

All in all it is a split with two very different Bands, both of high quality. I think nobody will regret it if he buys this release.

will this one be released on vinyl after everyone bought the cd as always?

someone should make a kareokee track out of häxhammaren. such a sing a long track, party metal! HÄXHAMMARRARRE!'

the svartsyn side is the most interesting one on that split though, nice use of the bass guitar.

Why that? A single 12" would have been fine in my opinion...

regarding playing time it would fit perfect on a 12"...

Who did that review? Anyway it´s far from being truth. The Svartsyn side sounds excellent to me, but then, not so "raw" as some said, i think, yet i haven´t listen to it more then a couple of times and i could be mistaken, the other part in this split is just average stuff in my opinion.

What about the Mlp's release? Are they still planned and if it is yes, could someone tell me when it will be available?

Thanks in advance,

Baal

Curiously, which songs are Svartsyn and which are Arckanum on the split CD? The packaging does not make it clear.

Craig, Arckanum tracks are first on the disc

Indeed a split CD worth to check out,Arckanum´s recording is a bit too polished but the tracks themselves are great.
Svartsyn just kicks the crap out of everything with this release, truly blasphemic.

yes the svartsyn part was surprisingly good, i got it mostly for arckanum's tracks but was most pleasantly surprised by svartsyn, too bad their other material is not of the same caliber

The "Destruction of man" of Svartsyn is also a killer!

nah i didn't find that one at all as interesting, but perhaps i should give it some more tries before writing it off, but there's just too much good music out there hehe

How does Svartsyns side compare to "...His Majesty"?

it's way better and more interesting. as been said previously in this thread the production (by courtesy of necromorbus) is top notch, if not the best i've heard in black metal. can't recomend it enough really hehe

The Svartsyn part of the split is excellent, really killer ! It's the same sound as "His majesty", I'm asking if it's the same recording session or not... "his majesty" is better to my opinion, but the "new" stuff is excellent. I'm a bit disapointed by the Arckanum part, I really like their old stuff, but this time I don't like very much, it's not bad, just disapointing from Arckanum to my opinion...

Finally got it !
ARCKANUM is not only disapointing, but it seems he play the same songs for 10 years !
SVARTSYN is great , really like their sound (great bass mix !)

ehm, have you heard his previous albums? well, i guess you have but it's a pretty strange statement, i think it's quite a difference from his three previous full lengths and follows more along the lines of the two 7", which means it's good, though that's not much to discuss hehe

Yes I have the 3 album, but what he did since it's just a pale copy of these album I think, it's seem that he lost something ....
This is my personal point of view anyway !

Although I still like Arckanum very much, I somewhat agree that something was lost after those first three albums, it's about a certain feeling...

yes i agree with you; the forest feeling is gone, that's for sure, but i still think it's really good. but i think my liking of his music has a lot to do with me being swedish and thus able to understand some of the medival swedish he uses for his lyrics; it gives and immense feeling of darkness and loss which really lifts the entire feeling

AH yes ! I personnaly don't understand anything to his lyrics.
I guess it's about Pan and nature in general, but I don't know anything more.
